Under section 26(1) of the CIA Act, no person referred to in the Third Schedule to the CIA Act, is allowed to provide construction services unless he is registered as a service provider under this Act.

The Third Schedule to the CIA Act lists the following persons as service providers:

(1). Computer Aided Design (CAD) Operator for Construction Works including Draughtsman.

(2). Technician in Construction (holder of at least a diploma in a construction related field from a recognised institution).

Note: Only individuals can be registered under the CIA Act, and not firms.
